Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for long-term placement)
Hours: Full-time and part-time positions available
Pay: Competitive daily rates (based on experience and role)

About the Role

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants with strong SEND experience to join our team supporting primary-aged children with complex needs. This role is particularly suited to individuals who have worked with non-speaking autistic children and understand the importance of consistent, responsive, and therapeutic support.

You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver tailored learning experiences and interventions that meet each child’s unique needs. Your ability to take direction, engage proactively, and support emotional regulation and behaviour will be vital in helping our pupils thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for non-speaking autistic children
  • Assist in the delivery of structured learning and therapy sessions
  • Support children with emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement individualised plans
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Observe and report on pupil progress and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience working with children with complex SEND needs
  • Specific experience supporting non-speaking autistic pupils
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to engagement
  • Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong understanding of emotional regulation strategies and therapeutic approaches
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
