EYFS/KS1 LEARNING SUPPORT

Are you a passionate, patient, and resilient teaching assistant who thrives on making a difference?

Do you have a genuine interest in supporting neurodivergent learners to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally?

This is a forward-thinking, inclusive special school dedicated to meeting the needs of children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated social, emotional, and communication differences. We are seeking a dedicated and creative teaching assistant to join our skilled multidisciplinary team and help shape the learning journey of our pupils.  The class are learning at KS1 and EYFS framework.

Small class sizes with high staff-to-student ratios.  A curriculum that blends academic learning with life skills, emotional regulation, and communication development.  Access to specialist rooms including sensory spaces, therapy suites, and calm zones.

As a teaching assistant in a ASD provision, you will:

Foster a positive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment where every child feels safe, understood, and celebrated.

Work collaboratively with Teaching staff, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other professionals to provide a truly holistic educational experience.

Contribute to EHCP reviews, behaviour and communication plans, and termly progress reports.

Promote and embed communication-friendly strategies, sensory regulation, and emotional literacy into daily practice.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Calm, consistent, and nurturing – with excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Committed to ongoing CPD and professional growth, with a passion for inclusive education.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience as a TA/LSA in EYFS/KS1 and/or with children with SEN.
