Job Description

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis at a primary school in Tonbridge.

The objective is to support a learner who need additional support, but to also integrate into the wider school community.

What we are looking for -

  • Experience working with children with ASD and/or SEMH (preferred but not essential) or mainstream Primary school experience
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents
  • A genuine passion for supporting SEND pupils

Required for the role -

  • Relevant Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to train)
  • Ability to work alongside the classroom teacher and other support staff
  • Be able to liaise with parents, teachers, SALT and other outside agencies
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
  • Additional training in ASD/SEN (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum and phonics (desirable)
