Job Description

Are you a qualified teacher looking for a new challenge?  Have you considered SEN?  Are you already a SEN Teacher looking for something new....?

We currently have a number of SEN schools in Kent looking for permanent teaching staff to join their teams.  These roles benefit from a SEN allowance and small class groups, excellent specially trained assistants and SLT who understand and offer support.

As a SEN Teacher, you will have a teaching style characterised by joy and playfulness, along with a commitment to a non-punitive and gentle approach to behaviour support.

 

As a SEN Teacher, you will be promoting a nurturing, safe, creative, stimulating, and inspiring learning environment, where children are encouraged to try new things and make new learning choices. You will adopt patience and practice, whilst promoting success for each pupil. You will play a central role in encouraging all pupils to learn and develop in a way that is unique and supportive of their needs.

 

As a SEN Teacher, you will work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff and therapists to gain the best possible outcomes for all children.

 

Job Description – SEN Teacher

 

Working in a SEN School for students with a range of complex needs.

Delivering creative and stimulating SEN lessons.

 Have a clear understanding of the needs of all pupils.

Have a calm and gentle approach to behaviour support.

Adapting and differentiating the curriculum for individual needs of all students.

Responsible for learning and achievement of all pupils, ensuring equality for all.

Promoting a love of learning, inspiring pupils to try new things and reach their full potential.

Safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Work proactively and collaboratively with supporting staff and external agencies.

 

The ideal candidate should be…

 

Adaptable and flexible in their approach QTS/QTLS

Confident with new classes and working with a range of pupil needs.

Fun and engaging – able to take lesson plans and give them life!

Looking for a variable, interesting and unique role.

Open to progression, development, and training opportunities

Personal or professional experience of working with children with SEN.

Experience of using a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all pupils.

Resilient and adaptable.

Ability to differentiate approach based on individual needs.

Enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive impact on pupils with SEN.

Caring and compassionate nature.

Confident, with good classroom and behaviour management skills, appropriate to children’s needs.

Ability to work well as a team, but also independently on your own initiative.

 Current Roles

 

We have a number of specialist roles available at the moment, so I would advise calling to have a chat as they are constantly changing.

However, in brief, we have schools in Swale, Gravesham, Medway, Maidstone, Ashford, Canterbury, Ramsgate, Folkestone and Tonbridge currently looking for SEN teachers. 

Some roles are KS1 – KS2 ASC.  Very nurturing and caring roles.

We have subject specific roles - PSHE, Science and humanities for KS3-4.

Some schools are all ASC, others SEMH.  We have schools for EBD and PRU units.
