We’re looking for dedicated, compassionate, and reliable Ad Hoc SEND Teaching Assistants to support schools across Medway and Maidstone from the end of term 1.

About the Role:

As an Ad Hoc SEND TA, you will provide tailored support to students with a variety of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language difficulties, and more. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to ensure each pupil has the support they need to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN
• Assist with classroom tasks, activities, and behaviour management
• Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals

Requirements:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in schools or other settings)
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work on a day-to-day basis, sometimes at short notice
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
