KS2 Teacher – delivering lessons at KS1/EYFS level

This is a forward-thinking, inclusive special school dedicated to meeting the needs of children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and associated social, emotional, and communication differences. We are seeking a dedicated and creative teacher to join our skilled multidisciplinary team and help shape the learning journey of our pupils.  The class are KS2 age, but learning at KS1 and EYFS framework.  This is a small class of 5 pupils.

Small class sizes with high staff-to-student ratios.  A curriculum that blends academic learning with life skills, emotional regulation, and communication development.  Access to specialist rooms including sensory spaces, therapy suites, and calm zones.

 

As a teacher in this ASD provision, you will:

Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging, and accessible lessons across the EYFS and KS1 curriculum, tailored to the individual learning profiles of students.

Foster a positive, nurturing, and structured classroom environment where every child feels safe, understood, and celebrated.

Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and other professionals to provide a truly holistic educational experience.

Contribute to EHCP reviews, behaviour and communication plans, and termly progress reports.

Promote and embed communication-friendly strategies, sensory regulation, and emotional literacy into daily practice.

Build strong relationships with families, carers, and external professionals to support each child’s development and wellbeing.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS/QTLS
  • A reflective practitioner with the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles.
  • Calm, consistent, and nurturing – with excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Committed to ongoing CPD and professional growth, with a passion for inclusive education.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
