Kent Teaching Solutions are working with a warm, well‑resourced Primary school in Kings Hill who are seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover contract starting in September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school community with a strong focus on nurturing confident, independent learners. The successful candidate will take on a full Year 1 class, delivering engaging lessons and contributing to the wider life of the school.
About the Role
- Full responsibility for a Year 1 class
- Planning, delivering and assessing high‑quality lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
- Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
- Working collaboratively with the KS1 team and wider staff
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Contributing to school events, meetings and ongoing development
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching in KS1 (Year 1 experience desirable but not essential)
- Strong understanding of phonics and early reading development
- Ability to plan creative, engaging lessons that support progress for all learners
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- A positive, proactive and nurturing approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
