Job Description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and caring teaching assistant to work in KS2 at a primary school in Maidstone. 

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced teaching assistant, who has the skills and associated training to support children with social, emotional and behaviour difficulties. The children require a special individual who is patient, resilient and calm but who can also offer consistent and reliable support.

Candidates with a great attitude with limited experience will also be considered.

You'll need:

• sensitivity and understanding for building good relationships with children
• excellent verbal communication skills for motivating children to learn
• active listening skills to understand the children’s needs
• patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• to be flexible and open to change for working on different activities
• to enjoy working with other people
• the ability to teach pupils how to do something
• the ability to create the best conditions for learning or teaching new things
• to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device

The successful candidate will be required to work 32.5 hours per week (8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday, term time only + staff development days).
