Job Description

A primary school in the Folkestone and Hythe district are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to start immediately in a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) for children to support children with an EHCP with an Autism diagnosis. This role is a temp-to-perm role.

Day-to-day tasks

• Working with the SRP, going into classrooms to support SRP students
• Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
• Record and report pupils' progress to teachers

You'll need:

• Sensitivity and understanding
• The ability to build good relationships with children
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including active listening skills to understand the children’s needs
• To be flexible and adaptable
• To enjoy working in a team
• The ability to teach pupils how to do something
• The ability to create a good environment for learning or teaching new things and create a safe environment following safeguarding procedures
