We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist education team supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to provide personalised support for students with complex learning needs. You will help pupils access learning, develop communication and social skills, and support their personal care and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD/SLD
- Assist with sensory-based and interactive learning activities
- Support pupils with communication, mobility, and personal care needs
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A caring, calm, and empathetic nature
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A willingness to support personal care needs
- Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude
- A genuine passion for supporting learners with complex needs
- Positive Manual Handling and PEG experience extremely desirable.
- Experience in SEND, care work, support work, or healthcare is highly advantageous.
