This independent provision caters to children and young people with a diagnosis of autism and the related needs, like speech and language.  This is a brilliant opportunity to transition your corporate or generalist HR skills into a deeply rewarding sector where your daily administration directly impacts the lives of vulnerable children.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Safer Recruitment & Onboarding: Draft and post job adverts, coordinate interview schedules, look after candidates on interview days, and process vital pre-employment compliance checks (including Enhanced DBS, references, and right-to-work documentation).
  • HR Administration: Maintain accurate, confidential staff records and update internal HR databases in strict accordance with GDPR and school regulations.
  • Absence & Wellbeing Management: Track and record staff sickness, coordinate return-to-work documentation, and support internal wellbeing initiatives.
  • Staff Communication: Act as an approachable first point of contact for staff queries, helping to foster a positive, supportive workplace culture.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Previous administrative or HR experience within a busy office environment (experience within education or a local authority is highly desirable but not essential).
  • Skills: Exceptional organisational skills, high attention to detail, and proficiency in IT systems/HR databases.
  • Attributes: A warm, empathetic communicator who understands the confidential nature of HR and shares our passion for special needs education.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines or safer recruitment principles is a major advantage.

Why Join Us?

  • The opportunity to work in a deeply rewarding and purposeful educational environment.
  • A supportive, friendly, and collaborative staff team.
  • Early finish on a Friday, plus staff wellbeing initiatives.
