We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate floating SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This role involves working closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning, helping them to develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits. The successful candidate will be flexible and experienced; able to work in different environments and with different age groups.
An ideal floating SEND TA will also be patient, reliable and committed to promoting the wellbeing and progress of every child they support. You will work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENDCo and other staff to ensure pupils’ needs are met effectively.
This is a wonderful opportunity to work in different provisions with an array of learners with individual needs; excellent if you are new to Kent, are looking for flexible working and/or like a role that is diverse and changes each week.
Essential qualities:
· A caring and supportive approach
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· The ability to remain calm, flexible and proactive
· Classroom experience, either in mainstream or SEN
· Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
Desirable qualities:
· Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
· Full, clean driving license and confidence to drive a minibus
· Paediatric First Aid certificate
· Understanding Autism certification
· Working knowledge of PECs and/or Makaton
