Weâre looking for dedicated, compassionate, and reliable Ad Hoc SEND Teaching Assistants to support schools across Medway and Sittingbourne from the end of term 5 and for term 6. This is ideal for experienced people with a few days a week to spare, or a few weeks between other roles/commitments.
About the Role:
As an Ad Hoc SEND TA, you will provide tailored support to students with a variety of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language difficulties, and more.
You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to ensure each pupil has the support they need to thriveâacademically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND
- Assist with classroom tasks, activities, and behaviour management
- Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual needs
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in schools or other settings)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work on a day-to-day basis, sometimes at short notice
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
