We are looking for a Primary Trained Teacher that can work in Canterbury to work with Year 7 and 8 students, to do catch up sessions to rapidly improve in English and Maths.
This role is focused on delivering targeted intervention sessions to help pupils close attainment gaps, build confidence, and achieve their full academic potential.
You will be working with students who require additional support and deliver tailored, high-impact interventions in small groups or one-to-one settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective intervention sessions in Maths and English
- Assess students’ needs and track progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly
- Support students with varying abilities, including those with SEND or lower prior attainment
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align interventions with the curriculum
- Monitor and report on student progress to relevant staff and parents where required
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Contribute to the wider school community and uphold school values
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Maths and/or English at KS3 level
- A strong understanding of intervention strategies and differentiated instruction
- The ability to motivate and engage students who may lack confidence or interest
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
