Qualified Nursery Practitioner – Summer Term (Canterbury)
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Nursery Practitioner to join an independent prep school in Canterbury for the Summer Term, from 20th April to 9th July.
Hours:
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:00am – 3:30pm (one day 8:00am – 5:30pm)
The ideal candidate will bring strong early‑years experience, a warm and nurturing approach, and the ability to work confidently within a busy, well‑established nursery setting.

Job Description
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting the learning, development, and wellbeing of children aged 2-4. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children feel secure and confident.
- Planning and delivering engaging, age‑appropriate activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Observing, assessing, and recording children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and reports.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring excellent communication and partnership.
- Supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development, helping them develop independence and confidence.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, hygiene, and health & safety at all times.
- Contributing to the wider nursery team, attending meetings, supporting routines, and helping create a warm, inclusive atmosphere.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a relevant early‑years qualification (Level 2 or Level 3).
- Has previous nursery or early‑years experience.
- Demonstrates a caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates confidently.
- Shows commitment to high‑quality early‑years practice and child‑centred learning.
