We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Practitioner (LSP) to join our dynamic Vocational Studies team at [Insert College Name]. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide in-class and out-of-class support to students with a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support learners with SEND across vocational study programmes, both practically and academically.
- Work closely with tutors, support coordinators, and therapists to deliver tailored support plans.
- Encourage and develop learners’ independence, confidence, and employability skills.
- Promote inclusive learning environments that meet a range of needs including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
- Provide pastoral support and act as a positive role model in the classroom and workshop setting.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with young people with additional learning needs, ideally in a post-16 or further education environment.
- A good understanding of vocational education and a flexible, hands-on approach to support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, empathetic approach.
- Ability to build trusting relationships and positively manage behaviour.
- Relevant qualifications in learning support, SEN, or willingness to undertake training.
