We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant and inclusive secondary school community.
As part of our Learning Support Team, you will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support students with moderate special educational needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia. Your role will be vital in helping learners access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their potential both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-class and small-group support to students with identified learning needs.
- Adapt learning materials and strategies under the guidance of the SENCO and class teachers.
- Promote positive learning behaviours and independence.
- Support studentsā emotional and social development.
- Contribute to the monitoring and recording of student progress.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education.
- Able to build positive relationships with young people.
- A strong communicator and team player.
- Organised, flexible, and proactive in supporting learning.
- Ideally experienced in supporting students with MLD, ADHD, Dyslexia or Dyspraxia (although training will be provided).
