About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled teacher to join our team, working with a Year 6 class of pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a meaningful difference through a therapeutic and nurturing approach to education. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with ASD and SLD, including communication difficulties.
- Implement a therapeutic, child-centred approach that supports emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, teaching assistants, and external professionals
- Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents, and carers
- Create a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and assess progress, adapting strategies to meet individual needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with pupils with ASD and complex needs, preferably in KS2
- A strong understanding of therapeutic approaches
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
- Experience with EHCPs and personalised learning plans
