About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Functional Skills Teacher to join our team and support students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and accessible lessons in Functional Skills English and Maths, helping students develop practical skills that prepare them for further education, employment, and everyday life.
This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting learners who may need additional encouragement to build confidence and succeed academically.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills lessons for KS3 and KS4 learners.

Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and pastoral teams to support student development.

Maintain accurate records of progress and contribute to reports and meetings as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience teaching Functional Skills English and Maths at KS3/KS4 level.

Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate learners.
