0.6 KS3/4 SEN Mathematics Teacher

We are looking for a qualified maths teacher with experience working with pupils who have a diagnosis of ASD to work in a wonderful, independent SEN school in Medway, 3 days a week.

The successful applicant will have QTS and relevant SEN experience and training โ€“ or is a teacher from mainstream looking to move into a Special Educational Needs school where a more holistic and nurturing approach to education is required.

The school is an innovative independent school, catering for pupils from KS2 to KS4.ย  It is a fun and lively environment to work in; staff support and encouragement is a big part of their ethos.

The role is to teach maths to KS3 and KS4 learners in small classes (approximately 8 pupils to a class) with 1 or 2 Teaching Assistants, to ensure a calm, encouraging and safe learning space.

This is a contracted role to cover maternity and the school are looking to pay to scale MPS/UPS dependent on experience.

Qualifications and Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field.

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.

– Proven experience teaching Maths at the secondary level, preferably in a diverse classroom setting.

– Teach GCSE and Functional Skills Maths.

– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

– Passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
