Teacher of SEMH โ Key Stage 2
The school is seeking to appoint a skilled and committed Primary Teacher to work with pupils in Key Stage 2. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching within a structured and supportive environment for pupils with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Plan and deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum tailored to the needs of KS2 pupils with SEMH
- Establish a calm, purposeful and consistent learning environment
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies informed by trauma-aware and restorative approaches
- Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with EHCP outcomes
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, families and external professionals

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience of teaching pupils with SEMH and/or SEND (desirable)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and professional development

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree or equivalent teaching qualification
Desirable
- SEND-related qualification or additional training in SEMH, behaviour or inclusion
Experience
Essential
- Experience of teaching pupils in Key Stage 2
- Experience of planning and delivering differentiated lessons
- Experience of managing behaviour effectively within a classroom setting
Desirable
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH and/or complex additional needs
- Experience of working with EHCPs and contributing to annual reviews
- Experience of working in a specialist provision, PRU or alternative provision
Knowledge and Understanding

- Understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- Knowledge of positive behaviour management approaches
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
Desirable
