Social Science Teacher (Immediate Start)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly skilled Social Science Teacher to work at a Maidstone school located in the heart of Maidstone,

The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering high-quality teaching across a range of subjects, which may include Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology, primarily at Key Stage 4 (GCSE) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level).

The Role and Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons across the Social Science curriculum.

  • Monitor, assess, record, and report on the progress and development of students, providing timely and constructive feedback.

  • Maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and academic ambition.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of departmental resources, curriculum planning, and extra-curricular activities (e.g., debating clubs, university preparation).

  • Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral support and guidance to a group of students.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualifications.

  • A relevant degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, or a related Social Science field.

  • Proven experience teaching at GCSE and A-Level, with a track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.

  • Exceptional subject knowledge and a passion for social sciences.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to motivate and challenge all learners.

  • The ability to start immediately or with minimal notice period.
