Learning Support Assistant (Post-16)

Position: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Gravesend
Hours: 32 – 37 hours per week

At the college, the staff are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive. We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join the team and make a real difference to the lives of the students. This role will involve supporting students with a range of learning needs across the post-16 age group, ensuring that they receive the guidance and resources necessary for success in their studies and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with a variety of learning needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities and help create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement strategies that support students' academic progress.
  • Foster independence in students while offering encouragement and emotional support.
  • Help students with study skills, time management, and organizational strategies.
  • Assist with the use of technology and specialised equipment to aid learning.

What We Are Looking For:

  • A passion for education and helping students achieve their potential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with a diverse group of students.
  • A proactive, flexible approach to supporting students and teachers.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification highly desirable.
