New data revealed that the amount of schools that manage to retain an outstanding Ofsted rating has halved.
The alarming re-inspection figures prompted the governmental department to issue a warning to those who earn the highest grade not to get complacent.
Only 16 per cent of schools retained their outstanding rating following re-inspection, down from 33 per cent last year.
For many parents, an Ofsted rating can make or break whether their child attends said school.
