We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate KS2 SEMH Teacher to join our supportive and inclusive team in Thanet, a nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to thrive both emotionally and academically.
About the Role:
As our new SEMH Teacher, you will:
- Teach a small class of Key Stage 2 pupils with SEMH needs, using creative and adaptive teaching strategies.
- Deliver a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum that supports both academic progress and personal development.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them to develop confidence, resilience and positive behaviours.
- Work closely with a skilled team of support staff, therapists, and pastoral leaders.
- Collaborate with parents, carers and external professionals to create a holistic support network around each child.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Proven experience of working with children with SEMH needs (in mainstream or specialist settings)
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Empathy, resilience and a calm, reflective approach
- A belief that all children can achieve, whatever their starting point
