We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Science GCSE Teacher to join our dedicated team in Rochester, at a specialist independent school supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Information about the school

The school is an independent specialist provision for students aged 6 to 25 who have been diagnosed with various needs, which may include ASD, dyslexia, speech, language and communication difficulties, DCD, sensory, social, emotional and other learning difficulties along with high levels of anxiety. The school is set in an historic Medway town and enjoys the outstanding community facilities and links that the towns of Chatham and Rochester have to offer.

The school provides a holistic child centred approach to education underpinned by our team of 98 Teachers, Teaching assistants, Administrators and Therapists, all working in a caring and nurturing environment, with a common belief that all students have the opportunity to make progress and experience success every day, in a safe, caring, nurturing and secure environment.

As a Science GCSE Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver accessible and inspiring Science lessons (KS3 and GCSE level)
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and needs
  • Foster a calm, predictable, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work closely with SEN specialists, therapists, and parents/carers
  • Celebrate every success — big or small!

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3/GCSE level
  • A strong understanding of ASD and inclusive teaching practices
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach
