Are you a passionate and experienced leader ready to drive meaningful change in a supportive and ambitious SEN setting?

We are seeking an experienced, positive, dynamic and enthusiastic Nurture Lead who is a primary trained teacher with experience in teaching pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties.

The successful candidate will support the Senior Leadership Team in leading on the school’s Nurture Pathway, to shape their culture where every pupil can grow in confidence, independence and ambition.

The school is a mixed specialist day school, which provides a high-quality and inclusive education for up to 150 pupils aged 5-18 years, with an Education, Health and Care Plan and a diagnosis of autism and wider SEND. Their approach is therapeutic, holistic and pupil-centred.

The school is dedicated to meeting the academic, behavioural, therapeutic, and vocational needs of its students. Their mission is to create, adapt, and implement functional curricula necessary to meet the diverse individual needs of their student population and increase current and future independence.

The role includes:

· Delivery of Broad and balanced Equals curriculum

· Ensuring delivery of PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction & support in line with pupil EHCPs

· Enrichment, extra-curricular, and community engagement

· Preparing pupils for independence and adulthood

· Timetable commitment within Nurture Pathway curriculum.

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

· Has a strong knowledge of Nurture Pedagogy and experience within an SEN or inclusive setting

· Understands the challenges and triumphs of working with children with diverse and complex needs

· Is passionate about holistic education and developing the whole child

· Can inspire and develop staff through coaching, support, and collaboration with effective communication skills.

· Communicates effectively with pupils, staff, families, and external partners

· Has a clear vision for inclusive personal development provision

· Experience using Makaton, TEACCH and PECS, Intensive Interaction and Attention Autism.

· Excellent teaching methods.

· High expectations of both self and students.

· QTS/QTLS/PGCE or equivalent with excellent knowledge of the curriculum.
