We are looking to recruit a dynamic teacher to work across a variety of subjects up to KS3 level and GCSE dependent upon experience.
This is a small independent special school in Medway, catering for secondary age autistic students who have had difficulty within the constraints of a mainstream setting. These young people are academically high-functioning and are predominantly studying towards completing their GCSEs with the aim to access further education and employment beyond school. Class sizes are small, ranging from 4 to 8 students.
We are now looking for an experienced, dynamic and passionate teacher to teach, support and help our students develop into the best they can be.
Experience and knowledge of autism is desirable but not essential and further training and support will be given to candidates with less SEN experience.
Being a small school this role will also require the successful candidate to be flexible and the role will include delivering SEN interventions, leading enrichment activities as well as teaching life skills, learning outside of the classroom, IT and PSHE lessons where required.
A valid driving licence, with the ability to drive manual school vehicles (such as a small minibus), is preferred for this role, but not essential.
