Montessori Teacher (Lower School, Primary)

A Primary school near Maidstone are looking for a Montessori Teacher (Lower School) to start in January.

Must have Montessori Primary Teaching Qualification.

The school is a Montessori School in a beautiful rural setting. The aim is to create and sustain an optimum Montessori environment to enable each child to realize his or her richest potential.

The successful applicant will:

  • Facilitate and encourage the involvement of parents, teachers, pupils and the larger community.
  • Plan lessons according to a curriculum adhering rigorously to Montessori standards
  • Create and sustain an optimum Montessori environment to enable each child to reach their potential
  • Create a positive learning environment for all students
  • Have excellent listening skills
  • Have excellent knowledge of teaching and the ability to design courses
  • Have patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Have the ability to create the best conditions for learning or teaching new things
  • Be flexible and open to change
  • Be an excellent practitioner and team player
  • Demonstrate outstanding classroom practice, behaviour management and be committed to ensuring the best outcome for pupils
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team whilst also being able to work independently
  • Be an effective communicator and establish positive working relationships with pupils, parents & adults, staff and the wider school community
  • Have a passion for education and the learning of young people

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan a programme of work and activities
  • Prepare the learning areas and resources, and make sure they're safe
  • Watch the children and make notes on their progress and any issues
  • Make sure all children have equal chances to learn
  • Support and involve parents
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Keep records and write reports
