We are looking for a 1-1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with a diagnosis of ASC.
Applications from experienced Teaching Assistants with Level 2/3 qualifications and unqualified teaching assistants are warmly welcomed, as the school provide excellent professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare learning materials
- Follow plans according to the pupil’s EHCP
- Adapt teaching support according to student's needs
- Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
- Create an interesting environment for students
- Keep records and attend review meetings
- Work with professionals such as speech and language therapists
You’ll need:
- Sensitivity and understanding for building good relationships with children
- Excellent verbal communication skills for motivating children to learn
- Active listening skills to understand the children's needs
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- To be flexible and open to change for working on different activities
- To enjoy working with other people
