My client school is seeking a dedicated, flexible, and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the team, with the key responsibility of providing PPA cover across all year groups, from Nursery to Year 6. The successful candidate will deliver pre-planned lessons, support pupil progress, and maintain excellent classroom management across a variety of subjects and year groups.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons to cover for class teachers during their PPA time, ensuring continuity of learning for pupils.

  • Work across all phases (EYFS, KS1, and KS2), adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils in each year group.

  • Use provided planning and resources effectively, ensuring learning objectives are met.

  • Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment.

  • Assess and monitor pupils’ work and provide feedback in line with school policies.

  • Establish positive relationships with pupils, promoting inclusion and encouraging a love of learning.

  • Liaise with class teachers and phase leaders to ensure consistency and effective handover of pupil information.

  • Contribute to the overall ethos, values, and aims of the school.

  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.


Person Specification:

Essential:

  • HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification (or working towards).

  • Proven experience working within a primary school across different year groups.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.

  • Ability to adapt to different year groups and teaching styles.

  • Committed to promoting the wellbeing and academic progress of all pupils.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) settings.

  • Understanding of the national curriculum across primary phases.

  • Experience delivering lessons or interventions independently.
