Cover Supervisor required in a GOOD secondary school in Folkestone

Full time, 8:30am – 3:15pm

ASAP start. 

A Secondary school in Folkestone are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor who are available as soon as possible to join their workforce. The school are ideally looking for candidates who hold strong behaviour management, and have previous experience with mixed and low ability KS3/4 classes. You will be greatly supported by the Senior Leadership team, and will have full access to our CPD Academy to help support you enhance your career. 

The role would be well suited to an individual who has previous experience of working with young people within an education or similar capacity. It would also be a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to gain more experience before starting on their initial teacher training. The opportunity is a great one for development offering to support your continual professional development and wellbeing.

As a cover supervisor you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to students; a classroom can potentially be of up to 30 students.
  • Have excellent behaviour and classroom management skills.
  • Be confident in teaching students of all learning abilities.
  • Have a passion for teaching and a drive to enhance your career.
  • Hold a Degree or similar qualification, and have a subject specialism, is beneficial.
  • Have previous experience supporting pupils with SEND/SEMH is beneficial.
  • Have flexible availability.

The successful candidate will:

  • Enjoy working with young people and able to build rapport with all types of learners.
  • Have a firm but sympathetic manner, with a good sense of humour.
  • Have a good standard of education (to NVQ 2/GCSE and preferably A’ Level standard) and sound literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Be willing to undertake training and develop their skills.
