Kent Teaching Solutions are working with a primary school in Sittingbourne who are looking to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 2 who has Speech and Language Difficulties.
The role will be Monday-Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm and consist of supporting the child 1:1 at all times. The aim is to help the child to progress socially and educationally so that they can integrate more effectively with their peers.
Your key duties will be to greet the child as soon as they get into the classroom and assist them in organising their belongings ready for the day, use picture cards to support them in their learning and communication and any other duties allocated to you by other staff members.
It is essential that you have recent experience of working in a school and enjoy supporting children with additional needs. It would also be desirable for you to have a good understanding of using PECS and/or Makaton.
